There are a few places where I want nothing else but to stay, for hours on end, watching, letting the visuals sink in, slowly, without ever moving on. The Hong Kong Island skyline, seen from the southern shore of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kownloon, is one of those.
When showers come in sporadically, like yesterday, lasting a few minutes each time, and the skyscrapers have gone calm after their crazy light show, things are perfect. A fresh smell of ocean, mist, rain, a light breeze. Tourists are all over the place, sure, but I usually try and drown them out with some nice piece of music running through my headphones, and it does the trick, acting as a perfect audio backdrop to the mesmerizing visuals.
